Nip and Tuck Racing in Yesterday's Formula Pi Finals

Written by on .

Formula Pi is a self driving race series aimed at introducing autonomous robotics through a race series using the Raspberry Pi and our motor controllers. The robots are standardised and maintained by us, so this is a competition purely based on coding skill!

Anyone can enter to race in the series, and on entry they are provided with a base library written in Python. People are free to edit the code however they choose;

  • They could change nothing and race that code.
  • They could change a few specifications for how the car moves, such as lane choice or speed at sharp corners.
  • Or they could rewrite the libraries from the beginning and provide their own design of autonomous driving code.

Last night we hosted the grand finals of Formula Pi for the Summer 2017 Series at our offices in Cambridgeshire.

If you would like to enter in the next series of Formula Pi, you can sign up here.

Not to give away the results, you can catch up with the replay of the live broadcast at the top of this post.
